New Delhi: May 12 2026Dr Hatchingthem Haokip, known as Tete, has been appointed as Assistant Professor in the Department of English at St Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, the Kuki Students’ Organisation Delhi & NCR (KSOD) announced in a congratulatory message on 10 May 2026. The appointment marks a major academic achievement for the scholar and has been welcomed as a source of pride for the Kuki community.

Dr Haokip is the daughter of Dr Onkholun Haokip, Associate Professor at Presidency College, Manipur University, and Mrs Veikhochin Haokip. Before joining St Stephen’s, she served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at JECRC University, Jaipur. She later worked as an English Language Instructor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, gaining experience at two prominent institutions before securing the DU position.
The Education Department of KSOD said the appointment is a “significant milestone in the academic community” and reflects Dr Haokip’s dedication, perseverance, and academic excellence. The organisation noted that her journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring scholars and students from the community who are pursuing higher education across India.
