The Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO) Delhi & NCR held a protest demonstration at Jantar Mantar today, demanding justice for the killing of three Kuki church pastors and action against what it called “targeted violence” against the Kuki community in Manipur.
According to a press statement issued by KSO Delhi & NCR, the protest was organised to condemn the killing of three Kuki pastors on 13 May 2026 and the continued abduction of 14 Kuki men, which the organisation attributed to NSCN-IM cadres. The group also raised concerns over the burning of Kuki villages including Haijang, Gampal, K. Songlung, Litan, Mullam, and Lanchah.

Key Demands Listed by KSO
In its press statement, KSO Delhi & NCR put forward an eight-point charter of demands:
1. Immediate abrogation of the ceasefire agreement with the NSCN-IM, which it described as “secessionist”.
2. Immediate release and safe recovery of 14 abducted Kuki men.
3. Combing operations in Ukhrul and Kamjong districts to dismantle camps and stop alleged illegal cross-border movement.
4. Crackdown on illegal timber and drug trade centres in Namlee, Wanglee, and Choro.
5. NIA investigation into the killing of the three pastors and prosecution of perpetrators.
6. Legal action against individuals and groups, including Tangkhul women, allegedly obstructing security forces.
7. Ban on organisations including SDSA, which KSO accused of involvement in abductions and communal incitement.
8. Implementation of Separate Administration for Kuki people under the Constitution of India.
The organisation also cited the National Investigation Agency, stating that the NIA had confirmed the involvement of NSCN-IM cadres in the looting of Punjab National Bank in Ukhrul involving approximately ₹20 crores.

Appeal to Government and International Community
KSO Delhi & NCR said the protest was “peaceful and democratic” and aimed to draw national attention to the security situation faced by the Kuki people. The group appealed to the Government of India, security agencies, civil society organisations, and the international community to ensure justice and accountability.
The statement further warned that “if the legitimate demands of the Kuki people continue to be ignored, the consequences of such inaction will inevitably be reflected in the 2027 Assembly Elections in Manipur.”
