The Kuki Students’ Organisation General Headquarters on Sunday issued a press communiqué clarifying that statements made by Mr. Tony Singsit in a Zonet Media interview on May 15 are factual, evidence-based, and drawn from credible and verifiable sources. The YouTube interview, titled “Kuki-Tangkhul Conflict Explained: A Conversation from the Kuki Perspective,” discussed the May 13 ambush in Kangpokpi that killed three Baptist church leaders.

KSO said Singsit was not presenting personal propaganda or fabricating claims. He was articulating positions already made public by the Zeliangrong United Front in its official statement on the ambush involving the three pastors. His remarks were grounded in publicly available information and established accounts, the organisation stated.

The student body condemned what it called targeted attacks and attempts to vilify Singsit personally, describing them as baseless, unjustified, and misleading. As a media professional, he was carrying out his duty of reporting facts from the ground without distortion or malicious intent, KSO said.

The communiqué also addressed Singsit’s observations on strategies allegedly employed by the Tangkhul Naga Long to influence and mobilise other Naga tribes. KSO maintained that such information is neither imaginary nor fabricated and already exists in the public domain through forums and records. It accused TNL of focusing on insignificant details to undermine his credibility instead of addressing the substantive issues raised.

KSO General Headquarters said such diversion from core issues exposes an unwillingness to confront facts objectively and transparently. The statement was issued by the Department of Information & Publicity, KSO General Headquarters, on May 18, 2026.
