Mumbai: Panic gripped Juhu on Sunday evening after unidentified gunmen opened fire at a vehicle carrying Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff near Pushpa Narsee Park. The firing incident took place around 7 pm on a busy weekend, prompting swift deployment of Juhu Police at the spot.

According to preliminary police information, Tiger Shroff was travelling with his driver when multiple rounds were fired at their SUV. Both were immediately rushed to Nanavati Hospital in Vile Parle for medical examination. Hospital sources said the driver suffered a bullet injury to his left hand, while the actor sustained only minor abrasions and no gunshot wounds.

An officer from Juhu Police confirmed, “Tiger Shroff is safe. He has not suffered any firearm injury. Further investigation is underway.” The crime scene has been cordoned off and forensic teams are collecting evidence, including empty cartridges.

Hours after the attack, Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu, who claim to be members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, purportedly claimed responsibility through a voice note and a post on X. In the alleged message, Pandit warned that anyone working with actor Salman Khan would be targeted, stating “Sooner or later, number sabka aayega.” Police are verifying the authenticity of the claim.

The gang has previously used social media to claim responsibility for high-profile firing incidents, including the firing outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Bandra Bandstand and has been linked to other cases in Mumbai. Investigators are examining whether Sunday’s incident is connected to that pattern.

The attack has triggered strong reactions from the film industry and political circles. The incident comes after the fatal attack on former minister Baba Siddiqui in Bandra last year, which had already raised concerns about the safety of public figures. NCP (SP) leader Supriya Sule and MLA Zeeshan Siddique expressed shock and questioned the law and order situation in Maharashtra.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has spoken to the Mumbai Police Commissioner and directed a swift and strict investigation into the firing. He has instructed that those responsible be apprehended at the earliest, sources from the Chief Minister’s Office said. Additional security is being reviewed for film personalities, police sources added.

Tiger Shroff, son of actors Jackie Shroff and Ayesha Shroff, was stated to be out of danger and was discharged after preliminary treatment. His mother Ayesha Shroff was not available for comment till the filing of this report.
