Changoubung village, Kangpokpi District, on the 21st after United Naga Council (UNC) volunteers allegedly blocked the village gate and tried to forcibly shut down local shops in the Kuki village. The volunteers, reported to be from the Tangkhul Kacha-Naga group, were carrying out a bandh enforcement drive when members of the Kuki community objected to the shutdown being imposed in their area.According to local accounts, villagers urged the volunteers not to enforce the bandh within S. Changoubung. The disagreement escalated when the UNC volunteers allegedly pelted stones at the locals. The incident triggered panic among residents and raised fears of a wider confrontation between the two groups.Police personnel reached the spot promptly and intervened to disperse the crowd. Officials confirmed that order has since been restored in the village. No serious injuries have been reported so far, though the situation remains tense.One community imposing a bandh and blockade on another community is not acceptable and goes against peace in the region.
