The Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO), Churachandpur, in collaboration with Lun-Hoi Enterprises, carried out a major pothole repair drive on Saturday, 10 May 2026, along the critical Tuibong–Koite road stretch. The initiative was launched in response to the severely deteriorated condition of the road, which has long posed serious safety risks and caused daily hardship to commuters. Residents have repeatedly raised concerns over the route, noting that its damaged surface has been linked to several fatal accidents in the past and continues to endanger school-going children, patients requiring urgent medical care, and other regular travellers.

The repair programme witnessed strong participation from village-level youth organisations across the area. Volunteers and leaders from HYA-Ramthar, Molnom Youth Club, M. Songgel Youth Club, Bethel Youth Club, L. Deilhenphai Youth Club, and T. Sejang Youth Club actively joined the effort. Working together, the teams undertook patching and filling of potholes at multiple damaged sections along the stretch. The coordinated action reflected growing civic engagement by local youth in addressing infrastructure gaps that directly affect public welfare and safety.
Speaking on the initiative, KSO Churachandpur said the road’s condition had reached a point where community intervention became necessary to prevent further accidents and reduce travel delays. The organisation noted that while road maintenance is primarily the responsibility of government agencies, the urgency of the situation prompted immediate voluntary action. The collaboration with Lun-Hoi Enterprises provided logistical and material support, enabling volunteers to cover key portions of the route in a single day.
KSO Churachandpur extended heartfelt gratitude to Lun-Hoi Enterprises for its support, and commended all participating youth club leaders and volunteers for their cooperation and commitment. The organisation stated that the successful completion of the repair work underscores the importance of community-led efforts in ensuring safer public roads and called for sustained attention from authorities to undertake permanent restoration of the Tuibong–Koite stretch.
