Dimapur, July 24, 2026: The Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM) and the Kuki Inpi Nagaland have expressed deep grief and solidarity with the victims of the landslide in Mon district and the devastating floods in Tuli under Mokokchung district.
In separate solidarity messages issued on July 22, both organisations mourned the loss of lives and extended condolences to bereaved families.
AKM said the tragic loss of lives in Mon is a painful reminder of the destructive impact of natural calamities. It also expressed solidarity with residents of Tuli, where homes, crops, livelihoods and infrastructure have been disrupted by widespread flooding.
Highlighting the need to stand together in times of crisis, AKM urged citizens to rise above differences and extend support to those in distress. It appreciated the tireless efforts of the district administrations, Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), rescue personnel, security forces, medical teams, volunteers, civil society organisations and churches, and urged authorities to ensure relief and rehabilitation is prompt, transparent and efficient.
The Kuki Inpi Nagaland also expressed deep concern over the flood situation in Tuli and the landslide in Mon. Extending heartfelt sympathies, the organisation prayed for the safety, resilience and early restoration of normalcy.
It commended the Government of Nagaland, district administrations, disaster response agencies, security forces, medical personnel, volunteers, churches and CSOs for their dedicated rescue and relief efforts, and appealed to citizens, charitable organisations and well-wishers to extend all possible assistance.
The statements come as Nagaland faces monsoon fury, with advisories issued across districts. Heavy vehicles have been banned on NH-702D in Mokokchung amid landslides, while ADC Akuluto has issued a travel advisory for NH-702A at Lumami village.
