Songpi: The United Kuki National Army (UKNA), General Headquarters, has issued a detailed public information statement dated 30th September 2026 addressing the general public across the region and conveying its greetings with a strong message of unity, collective responsibility, and peaceful coexistence for the future.
The organization stated that its leadership has been consistently working with dedication for the welfare and security of the community and clarified that its core and non-negotiable political demand remains the creation of a Separate Administration in the form of Union Territory with Legislature under the Constitution of India.
It said that due to the prolonged and painful conflict that has affected normal life for months, civilians, particularly the youth, women and elderly, have been facing immense hardship, displacement and uncertainty, and claimed that its cadres are actively working on the ground to ensure protection and provide necessary relief.
Appealing to the public with folded hands, the UKNA urged people not to believe in false rumours, propaganda or misunderstand its long-standing movement, stating that the organization has placed complete and unwavering trust in its leadership since the very beginning of its formation in 2015.
The statement alleged that despite sincerely seeking a peaceful and democratic solution within the constitutional framework and cooperating fully with Central Forces deployed in the area, its members are unfairly being branded as a terrorist organisation and targeted through continued drone bomb attacks causing fear among villagers.
It further warned in strong words that any individual, public group, or civil society organization leader who intentionally acts against the interest of the organization and the community in the present sensitive situation will be held solely responsible, adding that the organization will no longer be able to exercise patience and restraint.
The note concluded with a sincere prayer for lasting unity, communal harmony and peace among all communities, both armed and unarmed, living together in the region, and called upon everyone irrespective of differences to live together with mutual respect for the future of the nation and its coming generations.
