Songpi, July 26, 2026: The Kuki People’s Alliance (KPA) has rejected reports circulating on social media about the formation of a new political party named “Separate Administration Demand Party (SADP)” allegedly involving two of its MLAs.
In a press release issued on Saturday by its Department of Information & Publicity, the party clarified that Mr. Chinlunthang Zou, MLA of 60-Singhat (ST), and Ms. Kimneo Haokip Hangshing, MLA of 46-Saikul (ST), are elected representatives of the KPA.
“Any proposal concerning them is purely their personal political decision and neither represents the will of the Kuki people nor the decision of the KPA,” the statement said.
The KPA said it has no knowledge of, nor any association with, the proposed SADP and that the move does not reflect the will or aspiration of the Kuki people and is therefore categorically rejected and denounced.
Reiterating its political stand, the party said it remains firmly committed to achieving Separate Administration in the form of a Union Territory with Legislature under Article 239A of the Constitution of India.
The party stated that if elected in the 13th Manipur Legislative Assembly (2027-2032), it will pursue this objective through all constitutional and democratic means, including introducing a Separation of Manipur Bill.
The KPA also cautioned the public not to be misled by such unauthorised documents, stating that India is a democracy governed by the Constitution and not by the diktats of any SoO signatory militant groups, including UPF and KNO.
“The political future of the Kuki people will be decided solely by the people through the democratic process,” the release added.
